Sri Neyveli R Narayanan
Hailing from a family of music connoisseurs at Neyveli, Sri Narayanan was initiated into the art of Mrudangam playing at the young age of seven, under the guidance of Sri S.K. Ganesa Pillai. He made his debut at the age of 11 and ever since, he has been rising in his art by furthering his horizons and making a mark in the field of carnatic music. An intensive training under the Maestro Late Thanjavur Sri Upendran brought about a great amount of professionalism in Sri Narayanan's playing. His guru taught him the intricacies and specialties of the Tanjore Style of playing on the mrudangam.
Sri Narayanan is now blessed with the rare opportunity of being one of the favourite disciples of the Mrudangam Legend Padma Vibushan Umayalpuram Sri K.Sivaraman. This great influence has brought in a great amount of clarity, precision and perfection in Sri Narayanan's style. He has students both in India, USA, Canada and UK.
Sri Narayanan is a post graduate in rhythmology from Madras University and has performed in all the leading sabhas in India. He has also won acclaim in other countries like USA, Canada, Australia, Newzeland, UK, France, Germany, Switzerland, Holland, Dubai, Muscat, Doha, Abudhabi, Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong. He has also participated in many National and international festivals like the Festival of Asia in Queen Elizabeth Hall, London, and the National Arts council in Singapore.
As an 'A-TOP' grade artist, Sri Narayanan has been featured regularly by the All India Radio and TV networks, which also included prestigious broadcasts like Southzone Hook-up, Sangeetha Sammelan and National Programme of music.
He has accompanied almost all the veterans and present day stars of carnatic music, to name a few, M/S. Madurai T.N Seshagopalan, T.V. Sankaranarayanan, K.V. Narayanaswamy, T.R. Subramanyam, O.S. Thyagarajan, T.N. Krishnan, Mandolin Srinivas, FluteRamani, Chitravina Ravikiran, Sudha Ragunathan, Sowmya, Aruna Sairam, Hyderabad Brothers, Malladi Brothers, M.S. Gopalakrishnan, E.Gayatri, BombayJayasri, and others.
He had the privilege of sharing the stage with the Grammy Award winner, Tabla Wizard Maestro Zahir Hussian recently with Violin Vidwans Sri Ganesh Kumaresh. He has cut several commercial records, released by recording institutions like Charsur, Rajalakshmi Audio, Music India, HMV, etc.
Sri Delhi P. Sunder Rajan
Sri Parasuraman Sunder Rajan, popularly known as Delhi P.Sunder Rajan, hails from a family of Musicians belonging to the Temple town of Kumbakonam in Thanjavoor District. He comes in the lineage of Flute Maestro Brahmasri Sarabha Sastrigal. He is a disciple of Sangeetha Bhushanam Shri.V. Janakiraman. Sri Sunder Rajan started learning Violin at the age of six, and gave his maiden performance at the age of eight. He was recognised as a child prodigy and has established himself as an artiste of great talent, dedication and creativity. He has performed Solo concerts all over the country and abroad. As an accompanying artiste he plays for all the distinguished Musicians. He is now one of the most sought after Violinists in the field of Carnatic Music. Sri Sunder Rajan has the rare distinction of winning the Madras Music Academy's prestigious award as the best accompanying violinist for three years in succession.
Sri Sunder Rajan is also a talented Vocalist, having performed all over India and USA. He has performed Solo concerts in the prestigious festivals of All India Radio like, the Radio Sangeet Sammelan. He has participated in the National program of All India Radio and Doordarshan, and a special festival of AIR, in Commemoration of 50 years of Indian independence. Sri Sunder Rajan's skill on Violin has been acclaimed by many leading Music Critics in the country. He has got rave reviews in very popular News papers like The Hindu, Indian Express,Times of India,Hindustan times,The Statesman etc., and Tamil magazines and News papers like Idhayam Pesugirathu, Ananda Vikatan, Dinamani,Dinamalar etc. Sri Sunder Rajan has been featured in many Audio Cassettes and CDs released by leading Companies like HMV, Music today, AVM, and Magnasound. He is currently working on a Ph.D on the art of Violin from Annamalai University, which is one of the leading universities in India.
